Packrafting the Franklin River in June

What better place to celebrate the Winter Solstice (shortest day and longest night) than on a remote river in South West Tasmania?

A couple of our guides thought so and spent 4 days packrafting the Franklin River in late June, making good use of some beautiful West Coast weather combined with tame river levels (0.74 m at the Collingwood Bridge). They walked out at Mt McCall to avoid the long flat at the end and rainy weather forecast.

Big thanks to Anthony Coulson (RoamWild) for providing the transport (4WD and car shuttle)!
